Beloftebos is renowned for beautiful weddings and all other very special functions and memory making occasions.
Belofte means Promise and Bos means forest, but the name actually means: Forest where forever-promises are made. The beautiful setting under its majestic canopy of ancient Oak trees sets the scene as if this “Bos” knew its destiny and graciously prepared its splendour for all the love and promises it was to behold, cherish and inspire.
Catering at Beloftebos is done by the lovely, creative and energetic Corneli De Villiers and her team. Corneli is a master at stylish presentations and creating tasty and interesting dishes to serve hundreds of guests at the same time – quite a skill! All this with an ever-present, easy and sweet smile.
We had the perfect winter’s evening with the opening of the upgraded Beloftebos facilities for winter functions. The cozy ambiance was set by bonfires outside, a huge fireplace inside and hearty food, good wine and Francois Louw’s live music. We were served roosterkoek and canapes on arrival and a 4 course sit-down dinner paired with topnotch Raka & Hermanuspietersfontein wines.
The menu:
First Course: Snoek & Spinach Phyllo Parcel | Sweet Potato with a ginger & orange glaze | microherbs
Second Course: Guineafowl Barley Risotto | Roasted Figs | Fresh Coriander
Third Course: Two Way Lamb: Lamb Bonbon | Pulled Lamb | Butternut & Sage Puree | Fresh Pomegranate | Rocket | Chimmichuri
Fourth Course: Oxtail | Truffle Creamed Mashed Potato | Gremolata
Let the video and photos speak for themselves! Fun was had!

Granaat Cottage ~ Self Catering farm accommodation at Beloftebos
From one little piece of heaven to another. We left the venue and our, ever so slightly wined, selves had less than 2km to drive to get to the quaintest little cottage called Granaat (meaning Pomegranate).
Tranquil self-catering farm accommodation at its best!
Jann made us feel very at home with a warm welcome note and a litre of fresh farm milk, farm butter and a freshly baked loaf of bread.
Everything about this cottage makes you want to breathe deeper. It is tranquility incarnate.
Situated on a hill overlooking some of the surrounding farms and a poplar grove, Granaat Cottage boasts a large stoep in the front and a dam with the best clay at the back. It can sleep up to 10 people. There are two bedrooms, both with double beds, one with an en-suite bathroom and the other one opening onto the large patio. Upstairs… read more about Granaat Cottage.
I dream of taking my entire family to stay at Granaat. The ambiance is addictive!
