Expressions Photography

Expressions Photography by Andre & Selma

We’re a boy and girl photography team who said:  “We do” ourselves, a few years ago.

We’re uncomplicated people.  Collectively we like the sea when it’s stormy and splashing in a farm dam when the sun is beating down. We drool over anything Italian and we could spend hours in a bookshop. Furry creatures tug at our heartstrings and you won’t go wrong if you serve us sushi or curry.  We can’t be without music.

We love exploring.   You’ll often find our noses in a map book planning our next trip along a dusty back road.  We always take the long way around.  We dislike feeling at home when we are abroad.  We believe the little things are the big things.  During our travels we are able to indulge in our love for travel photography.

Although we photograph pretty much anything, wedding photography is what we do, and it’s what drives our creativity.  Always working as a team, we are able to visually tell the tale of your wedding day from two different perspectives.  You’ll often find one of us capturing sneaky photographs of unscripted moments that could so easily have gone unnoticed.

We’ve been complimented on our easy going nature and our ability to make people feel at ease in front of the camera.   We regularly leave a wedding feeling that we’ve made new friends rather than just being the wedding photographers.

Other than weddings, we also photograph functions and events.  Be it a graduation ceremony, conference, birthday party or a special wedding anniversary, we’ll approach the shoot creatively and it’s important for us to capture moments and emotions that are real.

We adore lifestyle shoots.   Families at home, or at one of their favourite locations, a beautiful baby bump, or simply celebrating life and love, these are some of our favourite things to do on a laid back Sunday afternoon.

We’ve recently started a little project called “A day in the life of…”  We follow our clients around for a few hours capturing the essence of what makes up their day.  It’s great to use for portfolios and to create a unique online presence.

Other than photographing people, we also do a little bit of commercial work.  We are honoured to say that we have photographed the Cape Homemakers Expo for 5 years consecutively now.  We also photograph interiors, mainly for accommodation establishments and businesses for online use and brochures.

That’s enough about us!  We’d love to hear more about you!
