Love Life Film, Music & Art Festival Returns to McGregor.
20 -23 March 2025
A Celebration of Creativity and Connection.
McGregor, 10 March 2025 – After a spectacular inaugural year, the Love Life Festival is back in 2025, promising an even more vibrant and immersive celebration of artistic expression. Set in the heart of McGregor, this multidisciplinary festival will once again unite filmmakers, musicians, and visual artists for an unforgettable journey of storytelling, music, and creativity.
Building on the success of its 2024 debut, which captivated audiences with a dynamic blend of performances, screenings, and exhibitions, this year’s festival boasts an exciting lineup of artists who will mesmerize audiences throughout the weekend.
A Showcase of Art and Creativity
In addition to world-class music and film, Love Life 2025 highlights McGregor’s rich visual arts scene. On Thursday morning, 20 March, art lovers and watercolour enthusiasts can gather at Kunskombuis for Watercolour Whispers, a unique painting event presented in association with the International Watercolour Association of South Africa. This inspiring gathering invites participants to paint together in a shared creative space.
Visitors can also explore the Art in the Garden exhibit, featuring stunning outdoor installations, as well as various galleries and artist studios throughout McGregor, showcasing an array of local and visiting talent. Whether you’re discovering an intimate gallery tucked away in the village or admiring open-air artworks, there’s no shortage of visual inspiration.
A Weekend of Music, Film & Connection
Beyond the art, Love Life Festival 2025 offers a perfectly curated balance of experiences—coffee-shop hopping, engaging conversations with town residents and fellow festival-goers, and moments of rest and relaxation at McGregor’s charming guesthouses, many of which offer special accommodation packages for festival attendees. In between screenings and exhibitions, visitors can enjoy the town’s vibrant yet laid-back atmosphere before ending each day with spectacular live music performances.
A Show-Stopping Music Lineup.
Kicking off the festival on Thursday, 20 March, the sensational Pichi Keane returns to the stage with her critically acclaimed drag cabaret, Freshly Squeezed! After setting the festival alight last year, she’s back to deliver another unforgettable performance.
On Friday night, 21 March, audiences are in for a true African treat as the acclaimed duo Qadasi & Maqhinga bring their soul-stirring fusion of Maskandi and contemporary African sounds to The Courtyard Bistro & Theatre. This electrifying performance promises an evening of rich cultural heritage and deep musical connection.
On Saturday, 22 March, step into the warm glow of an intimate evening with Wren Hinds. Set within the bohemian-style, 60-seater venue Wahnfried, this exclusive solo performance will take audiences on a deeply emotive journey through Wren’s signature blend of indie, folk, and subtle jazz soundscapes.

A Soulful Finale with Meg van Wyk
As the festival draws to a close, join us for a magical Sunday afternoon (23 March) at 16:00 with the enchanting Meg van Wyk at Villa Wahnfried. Let her mesmerizing voice take you on a heartfelt musical journey—one that celebrates love, life, and the beauty of storytelling through song.
A Cinematic Experience
Beyond the music, the festival also offers an evolving film screening lineup, free for all attendees. This year’s selection already includes the highly acclaimed comedy It Runs in the Family, as well as a collection of short films by local filmmakers, with more titles to be announced soon.
“The overwhelming response to our first festival proved that there is a deep hunger for authentic, diverse, and meaningful artistic experiences,” says Christi van der Colff, festival founder. “Love Life 2025 will push the boundaries even further, offering a platform for both emerging and established artists to connect, collaborate, and inspire.”
With McGregor’s breathtaking landscapes providing the perfect backdrop, Love Life 2025 aims to cultivate an atmosphere where creativity flourishes and meaningful conversations take center stage. The festival’s ethos—to celebrate art, music, and film as essential elements of a life well-lived—remains at its core.
