In today’s world where the ‘typical’ family is rare (either ‘broken’; rearranged; no longer recognised; or even where both parents work), psychological intervention has become a necessity. Not only are the children confused, vulnerable and without boundaries, but the parent(s) are exposed – put into situations of uncertainty as they struggle to raise their child(ren) as they themselves were raised. Media, violence, instability, divorce and medication puts additional pressure, ambiguity and insecurity on families.
