Caring Community & Doing Random Acts of Kindness

Please seek out opportunities to help or to make someone feel good every day. Often a random smile alone can become a forever feel-good memory. Do things like holding open a door, offer assistance or do any random act of kindness. Every small interaction with someone is an opportunity to make a difference and to have a positive impact on both of your lives.

Broken Wings Association for Adults with Disabilities

Broken Wings is the only daycare of its kind, in Alberton catering for up to 35 adults with disabilities who will never be in the job market. We have one bus travel all over Alberton and the surrounding townships to serve the community. We raise all our own funds to support the centre.

The bus had a major breakdown that will cost +- R50000-00 to repair. We took the liberty to ask you if you can assist us with a donation towards to repair of it. Urgent attention to this matter will be appreciated.

Community Kids Pot in Gugulethu in Cape Town

The Community Kids Pot in Gugulethu in Cape Town is in need of financial donations. Community Kids Pot is a Non Profit organisation which seeks to alleviate malnutrition in one of the most poverty stricken areas of Cape Town. The Covid 19 crisis and added economic pressure of the measures taken to contain it mean that Community Kids Pot is currently trying to feed a huge number of children every day and are struggling to meet needs financially. If you feel that you are able to contribute financially or otherwise please go to their website http://communitykidspot.co.za/donate to donate, or contact Leonard Nkwalase at https://www.facebook.com/leonard.nkwalase.3 or via whatsapp or phone on +27787307994.

The Pebbles Project in the Hemel & Aarde Valley is refreshingly heart warming! Due to the very hard work of the Pebbles Project teams, Carolyn Martin of Creation Wines and many lovely people who donated, the new school bus were nearly completely payed for in just three months. The bus is used to fetch and drop children who would otherwise not have been able to reach a school every day. Please donate to help grow this wonderful project!

The main emphasis of the Pebbles Project is education. We work with children and families in the Winelands farming communities in the Western Cape.  We focus on the entire life of the child and the challenging circumstances in which they live in order to make a significant and lasting difference. Since our inception in 2004, we have impacted the lives of children and their families in areas of education as well as nutrition, health, community and protection. Read more about the great work that is done by the Pebbles Project and please donate!

Independent NPO – Help the children at the Butterfly Centre in Stanford.
Opened on 20 July 2015, the Butterfly Centre in Stanford caters to children who are not coping in the mainstream school environment. This school and community centre has already changed the lives of countless families and kids. The children and their families benefit from the latest research and techniques to ensure that each child reaches their own full potential and lives their very best life. We also host workshops and talks with experts all fields of special needs. Parents who have been told their children will never read are hearing them read. Non-verbal children have started speaking. Miracles are happening, and continue to happen.
We need funding to continue to grow and help the ever increasing community of these special children and their families. We aim to educate and raise awareness which can help build a fully inclusive society, where children are celebrated for their uniqueness and taught to believe they can do anything they set their minds to.
We currently rent premises, but long term the vision is to build a permanent home for the centre through our registered NPO, the Butterfly Foundation. Funding also continues to ensure that we bring the latest teaching tools and educational materials to our area of the Overberg, South Africa. Please consider supporting us in any way you can.
Thank you to those who are helping us to make a difference.

COMMIT TO HELP SOUTH AFRICA’S LIONS

Take the oath and make a contribution to show your support!
Lions and other big cats in captivity are facing immense animal welfare issues in South Africa! The number of captive bred lions for canned lion hunting and the lion bone trade to be used in traditional medicine, have nearly tripled since 2010. At least 8,000-10,000 lions are currently held in captivity – ready to be exploited for commercial purposes.
