Have you ever been to a restaurant where you are asked to close your eyes, take a deep
breath, and enjoy the white floral scent of summer before indulging in their culinary
delights? “A meal is always more memorable when it is a multi-sensory experience,” says
Creation Creative Director Carolyn Martin. The Creation ‘Breathe’ Summer Menu will be
launched on the 1st of December, and it is all about you!
“Mindfulness of our breath is a foundation practice, reconnecting our senses of Taste, Smell,
Touch, Sight and Sound,” Carolyn continues. If this is the idea behind the menu, what
can you expect? A welcoming glass of the vivacious Creation Viognier, beautifully enhanced
by the scent of jasmine, sets the tone for an intriguing and utterly rewarding exploration of
the senses.
Chapter 1 features Mojito Mocktail, Gazpacho, Cos Lettuce and Edamame Bean Hummus.
This is served with the mouthwatering delicious mineral-rich Creation Sauvignon Blanc.
Chapter 2 consists of Salmon Trout Taco and Lime. This feast of flavours is complemented by
the Creation Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon blend with its invigorating salty bouquet,
reminiscent of the ocean breezes caressing the vineyards. To enhance your sense of place,
you’re invited to listen to a shell ‘phone’!
Carolyn emphasises that this is a flexitarian menu, thus every chapter offers a plant-based
alternative. An example is Chapter 3 which comprises Chicken, Confit Potato and Turmeric
Hummus. The plant-based option replaces the chicken with roasted Cauliflower Falafels
with both options elevated to a heavenly level by the fresh, zesty Creation Reserve
Chardonnay.
Chapter 5 brings you aroma profiles that echo the exquisite scents in the Creation Pinot Noir
Reserve. The umami-rich trio of Springbok Loin, Kohlrabi Salad and Mushroom makes the
Pinot Noir shine.
Creation has long been renowned for their innovative wine and food pairing menus and the
unique new Breathe Menu is indeed a breath of fresh air! It comprises six chapters or
courses and although 80% of the menu is plant-based, it also features the freshest and
finest local fish, free-range chicken and springbok from sustainable sources.
Creation also offers an À la Carte Menu comprising a selection of savoury and sweet dishes.
Among the favourites are Salmon Trout and Tomato Tartare, Belnori Goat’s Milk Cheese,
Pomegranate and Green Salad; Ostrich Steak, Beans and Baby Leaf Salad; Coffee Mousse
and Tahini Fudge with Sesame Chocolate Chard; and a range of other delicious dishes
including festive Friands to end your meal.
In addition, the Breakfast Menu includes Overnight Oats with Elderflower and Summer
Berries; Swiss Soufflé Omelettes with a choice of fillings; Poached Eggs with Baby Spinach;
Avocado Waffle Garden and other scrumptious options.
And not forgetting the younger ones, the Kids Menu allows some creativity for building their
own waffles, sweet and savoury; as well as homemade bread toasties, rustic wedges, lollies
and fruit cups.
