South Africans in the Lime Light
- The man of the hour is still JAN Hendrik van der Westhuyzen – read our little ode to SuperHero JAN and his delectable latest news.
Jan-Hendrik and Struik honoured Nosy Rosy with five #MichelinStar Recipes form his latest book “A Breath Of French Air”! As from next month, you will find One JAN #MichelinStar Recipe per month here.
- We associate CNN with bombings & stock market crashes and other bad news, so it is very refreshing to see that a South African company Swisatec got their attention for the R14 billion ($900 million) Blue Rock Eco village development in Somerset West. Also find other interesting bits of news on South Africa which made it onto this CNN page.
Internet News
- Social Media
Read this article for more understanding of the power of an authentic marketing campaign and how to create one.
- Internet, Interweb, bits & bobs. Now Bot Searches are competing with Google – and it matters for your business.
Successful business owners are always on top of who their target markets are. If you aim to grow into the next 10 years, you should know how young adults find what they are looking for and consider looking at why Bots are important. Bots are widely used with proximity searches – such as “Shoe store near me” (GPS Location obviously switched on on your mobile, tablet or computer.)
As background it is good to know that you can search e.g. “restaurants near me” on Google Maps anywhere in the world. Open Google maps and in stead of just typing a place name, search for example “Restaurants Claremont Cape Town“. Establishments who own a Google plus page and have claimed the business (a bit of a schlep but worth it!) will appear on these highly popular searches (and are listed at the top of the page on the normal Google Searches). The above mentioned mobile bots can do the same and you might like to be seen on the results of a search relating to your business. Facebook is leading with their bots for millions of Messenger platform users.”
Wine
Congratulations Creation Wines! The results of the prestigious National Wine Challenge, incorporating Top 100 SA Wines, were recently announced at a glittering event held at Spier Estate and the Creation Wines team is delighted to have five wines in the Top 100. To make this achievement even more remarkable, two of Creation’s wines, the 2014 Syrah, Grenache and the 2014 Reserve Merlot, were selected as Grand Cru National Champions in their respective classes. 10 May, 17h30: Wine & Canapé Pairing, Vivat Bacchus, 47 Farringdon Street, Holborn, London
Carolyn Martin from Creation Wines in the Hemel-en-Aarde, South Africa invites you to taste their award-winning wines, paired with scrumptious canapés at the renowned Vivat Bacchus Restaurant, Farringdon, London. For more information, please contact Daniela at daniela@creationwines.com.
Creation Wines are delighted to announce the latest releases of two of their most popular white wines. The aromatic 2016 Creation Sauvignon Blanc delights with scents of guava and ripe pineapple enhanced by minerally whiffs. It shows attractive tropical fruit, hints of cassis as well as fresh green pepper on the palate. The crisp natural acidity is characteristic of this elegant, cool climate wine.
Although little known in South Africa, Viognier is a cultivar which is becoming increasingly popular and production has escalated over recent years. Creation was the first in the Hemel-en-Aarde to plant this grape variety. Elegant and delicately aromatic the 2016 Creation Viognier beckons with notes of apricot, white peach and coconut on the nose. On the creamy palate pure peach and apricot flavours mingle with exciting minerality, beautifully balanced by tongue-tingling acidity. Read more about the 2016 Creation Voignier.
