If you ever wanted to stay in the Hemel & Aarde Valley, this is where you want to be. Trust Creation Wines to serve a new experience at yet another level.
The beautiful sleek design of Die Voormanshuis is the brainchild of architect Andrew Finlayson. Even though the building is super modern in its use of materials such as naked concrete, glass, steel, aluminium, raw face brick and wood, it seems to sit butterfly-light in its beautiful surrounds. Set among the vineyards of Creation Wines it is as intriguing to the eye as it is soothing to the soul. Rustic charm meets quiet sophistication as the wood-cladding on the sides of the building protects you from the wind while the glass on the front opens the senses like a retina on a love-drug.
On arrival one is welcomed by an impressive wine cellar and playroom downstairs and going upstairs, the view opens to a spacious patio and fireplace with a table and some chaise long, overlooking the Creation Wines’ vineyards, tasting room and restaurant.
Here you can spend the weekend surrounded by the valley’s soothing vistas of vineyards on the outside and artworks by some of South Africa’s most celebrated artists on the inside.
In summer an array of blinds and open doors will keep you cool while, in winter, a wood-burning fireplace will keep you warm. And there is always excellent wine to match and enhance every mood and occasion.
The open plan kitchen, dining, lounge area and bedroom en-suite is elegantly minimalist, yet sumptuously cosy.
